End of week one Control Week

The first week of my experiment was my control week. I timed my usual shower routine, recording the length and water consumption of each shower. I have to admit my water consumption was a lot higher than I had expected. I have an old shower head and it uses 19.5 litres of water per minute and with my average shower length just over 6 minutes, I averaged around 120 litres per shower. That’s almost 1000 litres of water per week! As you can see from the data my shower length varies from day to day reflecting my weekly routine. I usually shave in the shower once a week which explains the extra length, it also not uncommon for me to have quick showers as I am often running late. I am getting nervous as I’m not sure if I will be able to complete the challenge. I have worked out that my target time is 3 minutes that is not a very long amount of time, my showers are already fairly efficient. I have a feeling I may result to taking alternative measures to meet my hygiene goals, we will have to wait and see, stay tuned for next week’s update.
